I think every knitter and crocheter’s dream is to get free yarn! I think we understand the value of the yarn, but also the value of having something special and warm. I know that I have seen many of us jump in when called upon to donate our products to a good cause when called upon.
Often it can be tough to give away a project when you know how much the cost of the yarn is. But when you know someone is need you do it anyway. Helping others is often first.
My friends at Yarn Canada told me about this great thing they are doing and I wanted to share with all of you!
So what they are doing is, choosing 12 individuals and groups that knit or crochet for charities, and will giving away a total of $2000 worth of yarn to use towards their projects. Wouldn’t this help you to be able to do more work?
Here is the breakdown of how they will be divvying up the yarn:
1 x $500 of yarn to a Canadian group who knits or crochets for a good cause
1 x $500 of yarn to an American group who knits or crochets for a good cause
10 x $100 of yarn to Canadian or American individuals or groups who knit or crochet for a good cause
Submissions close December 15th and after that they will be selecting the recipients of the yarn by January 20th.
