Our boys love using our old iPhones on wifi to communicate with family members, but it can be hard to lock them down enough and keep the safe while still giving them freedom.
I know friends/relatives also hand over their own phones to kids so they can play games, take photos, listen to music and the such. But then again it can cause some problems as they then have access to your internet, your app accounts etc.
That’s why I am loving on the KidiBuzz from Vtech!
This is a kids hand-held smart device to replace actually handing them a phone. It works a lot the same meaning they can send texts, voice messages, photos, drawings and animated stickers over Wi-Fi to any parent-approved contact on their list. This keeps them safe, but also gives them access to some freedom and independence. Teaching our kids at a young age about the use of phones and limiting it naturally has taught them not to be constantly on it. They see it as a tool to communicate with others, and to entertain them when they have to be quiet, but they also get it’s time to run off and play too
The KidiBuzz lets kids view popular websites through a kid-safe web browser or download popular Android™ apps. But it also comes preloaded with learning games, and apps. But unlike that expensive phone it has bumpers and a shatter-safe screen so it can stand up to whatever they may throw at it.
