If you aren’t a knitter, it can be really hard to know what to purchase for a knitter for the holidays. But don’t worry I am here to help you! Anything that gives them yarn, or tools is usually a safe bet! The Darn Good Yarn Company has a good selection of both!
They sent me some special things to tell you about! I have a huge wish list of their products anyway, so I was super excited when the box came!
The first thing that I pulled out was their awesome Darn Good Yarn Club!
This awesome Yarn club costs only $10 a month, and you receive:
- A Skein of Premium Yarn
- A Knit & Crochet Pattern
- A Mystery Gift
What I really like about this club is not only do I get yarn, and a pattern for only $10, but their yarn club packs are prepared and packed by their friends at Schenectady ARC. This company gives jobs to adults with developmental disabilities so when you support this yarn club, you are also supporting another great organization too! Since I have seen first hand how important these types of companies, and jobs are to the special adults who have them and their families. So this really is a special bonus to me.
I was really impressed with the quality of the yarn, knitting needles and crochet hook I received. I loved my project bag….but my kitty loved it more. The instant I set it down, he laid on it, and claimed it as his. So apparently these make great gifts for cats too.
Look at those beauties!!
Not only are they gorgeous, but they also are are also super smooth, and easy to knit with. I love that the yarn slides along them nicely, but doesn’t slide off the back either.
I usually go to my needles that are pretty first, and then only stick with them if they are nice to knit with. Now I am trying to come up with a reason to use these monster sized needles.
I have loved yarn bowls since I first saw them. I have wanted one for years, but never actually owned one. So I was thrilled when they suggested that they could send me one of their oh so pretty yarn bowls. The beautiful works of art, are hand-carved and so sturdy!
My Mother In Law isn’t a knitter or a crocheter, and she loves my yarn bowl! She made my hubby and Father In Law listen to me tell all about it, and showed them how it worked. They were less excited, but both agreed it was a very pretty bowl. Hubby is always on board for anything that looks pretty and keeps my yarn contained.
The other part that I really love about this company, and these lovely bowls is that with every yarn bowl purchase they are able to provide full time work to women artisans in India and Nepal! That means safe working conditions and fair wages. So not only are you getting something lovely that is useful, and you can display, but you are helping other women who could really use a hand!
The Handmade Wooden Yarn Bowl is made of Sheesham Wood and measures 2.5″ x 5″.
