I am proudly raising 3 nerdly boys! They love science, robots, and all things generally geeky. They are really into all the STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) learning things. That is clearly there daddy. I am a bit geeky and nerdy, and like art, and tech, but the rest is all Daddy. We are both into technology, hubby more than myself.
When I found out about the Little Passports Science Expeditions Subscription I knew that I had to get these for my boys. Whenever I ask them to load the dishwasher they have to be “scientists” and mix anything they didn’t clear out of their bowls into some gross concoction. They are always quite disappointed nothing happened. I am not sure they are expecting milk and left over bits of food to magically go together and blow up the house or what.
We have tried a few of the Little Passports kits, and loved them all. Their favourite was the corral kit to date. After reading The Canadian Homeschooler’s review of the Science Expedition kits, I knew this would make a great gift for my boys, as well as for other science loving kids.
Each month, is a different kit full of of science experiments related to themes like rockets, forensic science, vision, caves and crystals, northern lights and magnetism, hydrology, etc. And the first month includes a Science Case and Lab Notebook, so you can keep track of what you learned! I love that. It helps them feel like a real scientist, but also teaches them the value of taking notes and that you have to write down your results so you can look back later. Since my boys aren’t fond of printing, I want them to learn that is a part of life, and you might as well practice it.
