I originally shared this pattern on a friends blog, but she no longer has the blog listed, so I thought I would share it here!
This is my Super Easy Lacy Blanket Knitting Pattern that I wanted to share. It’s perfect for snuggling your new little bundle of joy!
You will need:
- Baby Yarn in desired colours (I use 2 different balls of yarn, even if they are in the same colour)
- 2 Different size needles (depending on the desired lace effect – fatter needles will create a looser look. Your needles should be a significant size difference. For the blanket posted here I used 10mm and 5.5 mm, but I usually do a much bigger contrast)
Directions: Take 2 strands of yarn, and you are going to pretend it is only 1 strand throughout the whole project. Cast on 100 sts with your bigger needles. (You can do more or less depending on the size you want, and your needles, but this is what I did given the needles I had on hand) Then knit 5 row. Switch to the smaller needles.
Knit 5 rows. Switch to the bigger needles. Continue on switching every 5 rows until the desired length. I usually do them square, but if I was making say a crib one, I would make it longer than wide. Cast off. Weave in ends.
Present to the new owner, and listen to the accolades on what a beautiful blanket, and how hard it must have been 🙂
