| Check out our #savourthesummer meal from Sobeys! Sterling Silver premium AAA Steak, with Fully Loaded Potato Salad (Using Compliments products) Scroll down for the recipe |
We shop at Sobeys for our groceries, and tend to buy a lot of their Compliments products. My hubby loves their specialty ice creams, they are delish and cost less than the major brands. We have started swapping out more and more of our products for the Compliments brand products because the quality is there, and the price is low.
When summer rolls around, I tend to request BBQ a lot, and that's not just because hubby does the BBQing. It is so tasty, and just makes summer more enjoyable. Let's face it, as Canadians we need to get out when the weather is warm!
Sobeys wants to give us more time to enjoy the warm weather and less time in the kitchen! For a busy Mom like me (and someone who hates cooking), this sounds wonderful! They even gave me a recipe to try out! You can find this one, and more at www.inspired.ca.
First I was given a gift card to go shopping with, I went straight to check out their Sterling Silver premium AAA fresh beef, you can only find that at Sobeys!
Fully Loaded Potato Salad
PREP TIME: 5 min. TOTAL TIME: 50 min. SERVES: 10
Ingredients
2 lb (1 kg) Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled, cut into medium chunks
¼ cup (60 mL) Compliments Real Mayonnaise
1 cup (250 mL) low-fat sour cream
1 tbsp (15 mL) Sensations by Compliments Original Dijon Prepared Mustard
1 tsp (5 mL) chili powder, plus more for garnish
5 slices Compliments Naturally Smoked Bacon, cooked and crumbled
½ cup (125 mL) finely diced red pepper
½ cup (125 mL) finely chopped green onions, divided
¼ cup (60 mL) + 1 tbsp (15 mL) shredded Compliments Monterey Jack Cheese, divided
Directions:
Place diced potatoes in a large pot and fill with cold water. Bring water to a boil and cook potatoes until tender when pierced with a fork, 18 to 20 min. Drain and cool.
Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, mustard and chili powder.
Add cooled potatoes and gently toss.
Add bacon, red pepper, 1⁄4 cup (60 mL) green onions and 1⁄4 cup (60 mL) cheese and gently toss again.
Cover and chill until cold, about 20 min.
Garnish with remaining green onions, cheese and a sprinkle of chili powder.
We really enjoyed the steak, and salad. We had never tried the Sterling Silver premium AAA fresh beef before, but it really is Premium, and top quality.
