I was given 2 books from the DK 3D Series books! They are very cool books, here is some information on the 3D Series.
The
3D series combines DK's classic reference approach with
cutting edge augmented reality technology to create an incredible
interactive experience! Spread throughout the book are special
activating boxes that indicate the presence of digital pop outs that
when held up to the webcam feature amazing 3D digital
animation on the screen!
Using the magic of augmented reality, these
animations are superimposed on a live image of the book and its actual
surroundings, making it appear as if they're really in the room with
you-a miracle of modern technology that has to be seen to be believed.
The 3-D Human Body is a a very cool book, about the human body. The pictures in this book are amazing, and it covers everything you would ever want to know about the human body from birth to adult hood. I really enjoyed the tidbits of information that are throughout the book, and each tidbit is accompanied by an very high quality photo.
This would be a great resource for the kids for school projects, and the 3D will keep them interested!
I was also given the 3-D Dinosaur book to check out as well.
The 3-D Dinosaur book would also make a very good resource for the kids for school projects, and again has 3D animations for them to get excited about.
Obviously, since they can't take pictures of dinosaurs, they have computer generated pictures, unless it's pictures of the bones, or archeologists discovering bones. The facts are very interesting, and the book is broken into categories.
I found both books to be very interesting, and think if my boys were a bit older they would've found them very interesting.
