Speech Therapy update

Recently Jack started school, and our newest session of speech therapy started up.

In the last 2 weeks, I have seen such great improvement in Jack's speech.  He even corrects himself if he says something incorrectly such as: I eating, then he will say "Oops!  I AM eating, Mommy!!"

We even have found that he is getting better at explaining the steps that happens, or things we didn't think he knew.  Last night, Wesley's Iggle Piggle that he sleeps with (he sleeps with 2) was in the washing machine, but I told the boys it is in the bath.  It would be back soon.  Jack said "Maybe when the laundry comes back".  Without seeing the toy go into the washing machine, he knew that Mommy put it in there and that when I finished the laundry Iggle would be clean.

I am so proud of the progress he is making!

Blog and Etsy shop goals

So I am currently making a list of goals I would like to accomplish for my blog and etsy shop.  Do you have a set of goals?  If you have some ideas I would love to hear them for some inspiration, and if you have them on your blog you can share it here so we can check it out!

Thanks, and stayed tune to see my goals list!

Creations by Doodlebug Review and Giveaway

I am a huge facebook fanatic.  I seriously believe that it is a great way to market your company, and yourself.  I also think that I can find great companies to purchase from via my friends and their suggestions.  If my friends like it, there is a chance I will.  So I check it out.

Well one of my friends had fanned a group called "Creations by Doodlebug".  I noticed it was a very small group, and that she is located in my hometown.  I love supporting Canadian companies, and local artisans especially.  I have been away from my hometown for a while, but still have tons of family and friends there and visit often.  It holds a special place in my heart, and always will.

I then started checking out her stuff, and realized it is super cute!  She is just starting out and trying to get her name out there!  I knew that I could help!

So I fanned her right away, and sent her an email.  She was very eager to work together!  I got to pick out anything I wanted to try, and I chose a snack bag, as I usually use disposible ones.  I always feel guilty about that, but haven't thought of another option.

When I received my package I was surprised, and delighted, that she included 2 snack bags, in different sizes. As most of you are aware I have 3 boys, the 2 older ones like having everything the same, b/c then they can each have one. It makes life easier for me too b/c I just ensure they each have 1 of the same thing and there are no fights.

She has 3 sizes, I tried small and medium, which I thought was perfect for my boys hands.  The 2 year old got the small one and the 4 year old tried out the medium.  It worked perfectly for each of them.  They both loved having a special bag for their snacks, and I love saving the money on disposable bags, and also not generating so much waste.

Here are some of the other super cute things she has:

She makes sandwich bag/placemats!  I love this, so you can use it as a sandwich bag, then open it up and not have to put your sandwich on some nasty surface!  It comes in all kinds of fabric.

She makes other things too, such as: Marker and Crayon carriers, and 2 sizes of bibs!  All of her things are super cute, you really have to check it out!

SmartKnitKids Review and Giveaway

I have a confession to make, I am very very particular about my socks. Very.  Here are the rules:

  1. They must not get wet, they will come off if they are wet.  I would rather walk around with no socks than have wet ones.
  2. The toe seam has to be in such a way that I do not have to step on it.
  3. They must NOT move all around so that the heel goes on the top!
  4. They must have a cuff so that they stay up, if they fall down, they will come off, or be folded down.
  5. I hate holey socks too - they get thrown out!
This is way summer is so nice to me, I don't have to wear socks LOL!  I like wearing socks, but they really do have to fit in a tight box.  And just to reinforce the point, my poor hubby has had to stop me on numerous occassions from fixing his socks.  My 4 yr old knows to fix it, or Mommy will!! LOL I have started buying only certain kinds for them, as I will have to fix them for them.

So, I read a review on Two Children and a Migraine about SmartKnitKids socks, and with all do respect to Ms Jayda, I doubted I would like them as much as her.  I am seriously picky, and have to wear sports socks with dress pants because I can't stand the feel of dress socks.  As an avid knitter, people often ask me why I don't knit my own socks, it's because I can't stand wearing knitted socks most of the time.  The feel of the knit usually bugs my feet (I have sensitive skin thus the reason it makes me so crazy).

Ok so you are starting to get a sense of my insanity towards socks! hee hee

I tried out socks for me, as I really am the most sensitive about socks, and the most critical.

The first thing I noticed when I opened them was....no elastic cuff at the top. Uh oh!  I searched them and there was no seem, so I was happy about that.  I put them on and I couldn't feel the knit stitch when I walked!  YAY! I was afraid my feet would sweat and then the socks would get damp...which would mean no good.

Well they are quite breathable, and even though there was no cuff, and it started rolling a bit at the top, I didn't notice it at all.  The socks stayed up too!  I don't think they turned around, but I don't know b/c they really are tube socks.  Although my hubby has tube socks, I can always tell when his flip around, so I was really impressed that I don't know!

I really do love these socks!   That is huge coming from me, really!
I hate holey socks too - they get thrown out!

So here is the low-down on these socks from the company!!

SmartKnitKIDS® patented seamless socks are perfect for children experiencing sensory processing differences, hypersensitivity or who simply can’t stand annoying seams! These super soft socks for sensitive little feet will not wrinkle or bunch and are proven to reduce irritation.

No Seams to Bug Ya!

Completely free of seams, the patented kids' socks are designed to provide comfort and relief to children who struggle with “bumps & lumps” in their socks.

Reduces annoying wrinkling and bunching in the shoe

Corespun yarns using Lycra and form-fitting design result in children's socks that “hug” the foot reducing wrinkling and bunching. The form fitting design also helps to keep socks on the wiggliest of toes.

UNIQUE NO HEEL DESIGN

“No heel” design allows children to put on socks with confidence and keeps little feet from outgrowing their socks so quickly.

Comfortable Non-Binding Top

Our non-binding Halo Top™ fits comfortably without slipping down the leg.Regular socks often have elastic bands at the tops of the sock that can often pinch, bind or be a source of irritation.

Keeps Feet Dry & Healthy

SmartKnitKIDS™ Socks are made with high-tech fibers that wick moisture away helping control odor or "stinky feet".
All these claims are true!  I love that they have made these for adults too, because my boys don't seem to be bothered by it too much, but I really am with other socks.  Also, my mom is a diabetic, and I know her feet are really sensitive to seams and such, and she needs a thicker sock to protect her feet.  These are thicker, but don't feel too thick!!

They make different styles and colours too!

BUY IT:
Head over to SmartKnitKIDS and pick up some pairs.  What a great stocking stuffer, or a gift for Christmas (we all know that Mom's give socks for Christmas!!)  They are having a 20% off sale right now, so be sure to take advantage!

WIN IT: One VERY lucky reader of mine will win 3 pairs of SmartKnitKIDS socks, your choice of colour and sizes!!
