Awards!

Yay so I received 2 awards from Kim at Chubby Cheeks Thinks!  You can see them on my sidebar!

I received A Blog With Substance award!  Thanks Kim! I love getting awards, and I secretly have hoped for the blogger with substance one LOL!

If you are an award recipient, please take a few minutes to pass it along! Here are "The Rules":
•Thank the blogger who awarded it to you.

•Sum up your blogging philosophy, motivation, and experience using five (5) words.

Life, Love, Family, Be Self

I also received the Life Is Good Award, which is totally true of my life!  I have 3 boys, and a wonderful hubby, how could love not be good?

So, I get to answer these fun questions and then pass it along!

1. If you blog anonymously, are you happy doing it that way; if you are not anonymous do you wish you had started out anonymously so you could be anonymous now?
As you can tell, I am totally anonymous! HA!  No I don't wish I had started out that way.  My philosophy is to me, take it or leave it, but this is me.  I have tried on occassion to not put my kids names on here and then forget LOL!

2. Describe one incident that shows your inner stubborn side.
Oh geez, I can't think of 1 particular one, it's just who I am.  If you know me, you would know I am stubborn.  I don't let anything go, if I put my mind to it, it is going to happen LOL!  My poor hubby, I tend to make him make the decisions on stuff as I have a hard time choosing, but when I suggest something and he doesn't agree if I get a look or say Oh Yes it is happening!  He knows just let it go!  She is going to make this happen LOL!
3. What do you see when you really look at yourself in the mirror?
To be quite honest, I really try not to look in the mirror too long, when I do I see a big nose, or yucky skin, or bad hair or whatever I don't like about myself.

4. What is your favorite summer cold drink?
Water.  Does that make me boring?

5. When you take time for yourself, what do you do?
Blog, knit, take a nice bath with a book, just sit in the bathroom hiding LOL!

6. Is there something you still want to accomplish in your life? What is it?
Well I am only going to be 35 so YES! Raising my boys into good hubbies and family men, getting my etsy shop running, getting my blog going, traveling, etc, etc
7. When you attended school, were you the class clown, the class overachiever, the class shy person, or always ditching school?
Shy person!  Very much, which is funny b/c people who know me now, but not then don't believe it at all! ha!  I was also teacher's pet, in that I was the goody-2-shoes.
8. If you close your eyes and want to visualize a very poignant moment in your life, what do you see?
My wedding day, or holding my boys for the first time!  I was born to be a wife and mother.

9. Is it easy for you to share your true self in your blog or are you more comfortable writing posts about other people or events?
My blog is me, it's how I would talk to family and friends.  If there is something super stressful happening, I keep it to myself and tell everyone after I know how I feel about it.  Other than that, it's me as an open book.

10. If you had the choice to sit and read or talk on the phone, which would you do and why?
It would be to read, as I don't get to do it enough.  I have been a receptionist and so I can talk on the phone and do anything LOL

I am passing these along to!

I've only recently discovered the Twingle Gal's blog, and I think you shouldn't wait as long as I did! Go now!! LOL!  She is a Mom of 3, like me, and has been married 6.5 yrs but had been together a while before that.  My hubby and I have been married 7 years, and were together 9 years before that.  I love her giveaways too!
1. Tell me a little about yourself.
I'm a SAHM to twingles (twins (6) +1 (10 mos)) but up until about 2 months ago I owned and ran my own online business geared at promoting cloth diapering. I have a wonderful husband of 6.5 years though we've been together for 14 years. We have 2 fur babies, a cat and a dog.

2. How long have you been blogging?
2 months

3. What is your favorite thing about blogging?
I love connecting with others. It's great when a reader comments on a post sharing a similar thought or experience. It makes me feel wonderful to know I'm not the only one going through the struggles and successes in my life.

4. What is your main line of work currently? (eg. SAHM, Accountant, etc.)
SAHM

5. Do you have any blogging pet peeves?
I haven't been blogging long enough to have any; but, I'm sure some will develop the longer I'm around :P

6. Do you have any giveaways? If so, what's the most exciting one you have going right now?
I do have giveaways. I don't have one currently going on; but, there will be one very soon for a Clipa handbag holder. I'm just waiting for mine to arrive to do the review to go along with the giveaway.

7. What led you to name your blog the name you gave it?
Life of a Twingle Gal is the name of my blog and it sums it all up. I write about my life as a mom to twingles. It just seemed to fit.

SmartAss Gifts Review and Giveaway

Warning: My next couple of reviews you are going to learn a lot about me! HAHA!

One of my favourite blogs to check out is http://www.oneincomedollar.com/ as they have some great giveaways, and I win a lot from there LOL! Anyways the one time I was on the blog she had a giveaway for a company called Smart Ass Gifts.  The giveaway was for 2 thongs, and as you might have guessed by now, I won!

The idea behind the undies is that you choose a saying that gives you a little boost in the morning and is affirmative to you - "yummy mummy" "bella" etc. I found it hard to choose which one I would want they have so many cute ones.  I got this one:

and I also picked one with the saying: Trophy Wife.  I've recently won again, and this time I choose one that says: Domestic Diva!

When they arrived, I thought they were super cute, and fancy.  But I also thought the thong part was a little wide and might be uncomfortable for me, but (no pun intended), it wasn't!  These are super comfortable, and I actually feel sexy when I put them on!  I feel like that yummy mummy or trophy wife!  I love them so much that they are usually on me or in the wash LOL!  I need to get more!

I know we don't like to think about it, but Christmas is right around the corner, and if we plan ahead, and shop early it won't be such a burden: financially, or stress-wise.  I always like to think ahead, and already have some gifts made, or in progress.  Contest wins, are going in to gifts, and also bookmarking/purchasing from some awesome sites.  This would be the perfect gift for Christmas for that sassy woman in your life (or for yourself - I like to drop hints to my hubby like sending him the link and saying I want this, in this size and colour - LOL).  Also a cute stocking stuffer!  What woman doesn't need to feel sassy, and sexy these thongs really do that, at least I know they did for me.

Do you have a BFF's b-day coming up?  What about a wedding shower, or lingerie shower?  You know everyone is going to get the same old gifts, why not get these sassy sexy thongs?  They have several different styles, AND if you are getting married they even have bridesmaids ones!

I love that they even have ones for pregnant women!  Let's face it, if you have ever been pregnant you know you feel less than sexy, when you have just puked the entire day, and you have that extra weight on!  Having a sexy pair of undies that fit would really help!

But don't think these are just for others and only for gifts!  Seriously they are for every day too, and you will be happy that you have them!  They are great for active girls who are always running around, trust me I have 3 boys 4 and under I would know! LOL  Each morning when you put these on you get a little "Panty Pep Talk!"  Seriously I know it sounds weird, but just having that on my trophy wife panties makes me feel like one.  I feel sexy (with breastmilk leaking, and smelling like baby puke), and feel like hey he is lucky to have me! haha!

What really struck me when I got them was how they were so beautifully packaged, they are all ready for gift giving!
They like to say "Smart ass is the perfect original gift."  I have to agree!  I will be adding them to my birthday and Christmas gift list in hopes my hubby will buy some for me!

And now a word from our sponsor:

Smart ass is the perfect original gift.  Our custom designed thongs are made to fit and flatter.
With our sassy sayings emblazoned on the back, and our custom printed gusset (the worlds first inspirational gusset ™) each smart ass thong provides a panty pep talk !

sexy . comfortable . stylish

A CHEEKY TWIST TO THE TRADITIONAL GIFT SERIOUSLY SASSY

No matter what kind of day you have, smart ass has you covered.
Every thong lover needs to have a pair of these Sassy Skivvies!  And if you aren't currently a thong lover, give these a try, I am sure you will become one!

BUY IT: Go to SmartAss Gifts and pick up a pair for yourself (and every sassy lady you know ;)!)

WIN IT: While talking to one of the lovely ladies from SmartAss about my wins, I told her I was going to do a review from my wins, and asked if she would want to do a giveaway, and to my delight (and your gain), she so wonderfully said YES!  One lucky lucky sassy lady is going to win 2 pairs of SmartAss thongs of your choice!

My Dandelion Wishes Review

Kady from Take A Mom's Word for It publishes one of my favourite blogs, and whenever I see that she has a new giveaway on her blog you know I have to enter it.

Currently she has a few really great ones going that you really MUST check out! Oh...wait...umm... Never mind... don't enter....I want to win ROFL!

When I was entering I discovered that she has one for her shop! YAY!! It's for this cute hat!

For the mandetory entry you have to go check out her shop, as per usual, and I had a browse around.  I totally recommend this, but I will highlight a few of my favourite things.

These are beautiful hair clippies for your little Princess!

An Apple Cozy for the teacher in your life!  (Hint: She is a teacher and she makes these, so a gift a teacher will actually enjoy for Christmas - let's think ahead people ;) )

What about this Pink Sorbet and FREE matching BIB!  So sweet as a shower gift!

When I was having a look around when I came across this cute little necklace:

Denim Crocheted Necklace

It was only $4!! So I had to buy it! It is one of the items she always has stocked in her shop so you can always run over there and get it yourself.

It only took 2 days to get here, and I opened it up and put it right on!  It is very light, but looks like a substantial piece.  It is a real statement, which I love, but not over powering.  She has a rainbow one too if you like that better.  I found for me denim works nicer because I am always wearing jeans!

To be honest, I keep forgetting I am wearing it LOL, it is that light and comfy, and who can beat the price?? I for sure will be putting her shop on my Christmas list, and will be seeing what I can get my boys for Christmas too.  The price point is reasonable, and the quality is great.

I love that she is Canadian, a Mom (a mom of 3 no less, so that's always an extra bonus in my books), and a blogger!! Us bloggers have to stick together girls!

So please check out her blog: http://www.takeamomswordforit.com/, and her etsy shop: My Dandelion Wishes.  Also she is going to be one of the sponsors for Blogmania over at Chubby Cheeks Thinks!

We have a Winner!

The winner of our Twomomo22 Memory Board is:

Congrats Jayda!

I will contact you and then you will have 48 hours to get back to me before I draw another winner.

Something I made

I knitted this granny square blanket on my straight knitting needles, and loom knitted the hat.

Here's a close up of the hat:
I hand-sewed this embellishment on!

One of "those" days

I am sure you have had one of "those" days, you know, the ones where it isn't even noon yet, and you are ready to call it a day?  You can't even remember why you thought it was a good idea to get out of bed in the first place?

Well that was me yesterday.

Admitedly, some of the blame has to go to my sweet baby, who is so close to cutting his teeth I can see them through the skin.  He is so smiley during the day, but he cries in pain most of the night so Momma's brain is a little fried from lack of sleep.

I woke up in the morning (and when I say woke up in the morning, I mean, woke up after a few minutes of napping around 6 am). I was so tired and miserable, and the boys were miserable too.

I sat on the couch convincing myself I should go to Mommy and Me.  I assist with clean up, and don't want to leave the lady in charge by herself, and the boys love going and helping clean up.  So I dragged myself up, got ready, fought with the boys to get ready, woke up Justin and got him ready.

I pull in to the parking lot and I am late.  I hate being late.  I mean really hate it, I get stressed, and irritated, and no one around me is pleasant because I get so irritated!  But I pull around the back and no one is there, so I am thinking shoot maybe it was somewhere else today!

The lady in charge, Pastor A, looks at me with a funny look as she is unloading her car.  Clearly because I am late, and I am always a 1/2 hour or more early to help.  She is late too, because she is still unloading stuff from her car, and that makes me in a worse mood because she really needs my help and I am not there to help her.

So she walks over to my car window and with a chuckle says "So coming a day early right?" Ha ha

Well when she sees the horrified look on my face and I ask "Today's Wednesday??" She realizes I really am a day early and not there for some other reason!

I did mention that my son's really love going right?  Well the 4 year old is trying to unbuckle his seat and we are trying to convince him not to as it is the wrong day!  Well he didn't like that and started saying "No I want to go in, it's not the wrong day".  Then the 2 year old started crying, so here I am all frustrated, and I have 2 crying boys.

I tell them I will get them each a donut, and a cookie from Tim Horton's on our way home.  They get plain donuts all the time, but never get the cookies.  So that cheered them up a bit.

I went thru the drive thru and headed home.  As soon as I went into the sub-division my 4 year old starts: Mommy I don't want to go home.  I check the mail and it still isn't there, and it is really late.

I am trying to get them out of the car, and the 4 year old is saying "No I am not getting out, I am not going home."  Luckily his friend from across the street had Timmy's too so we sat on their porch and ate it.  But as I was pulling out the donuts, I realized they only have me 1, so the boys had to split it which they weren't too thrilled about.

After we ate they still didn't want to go home but it was now nap time.  It ate up all my morning, and I didn't get anything done I wanted to do and I had a long list.  So I fight with them into their beds, and come downstairs and see the mirror that's when I realized my charm on my necklace had been on backwards  the whole morning!

At least while they were napping and in the evening I got a bunch of things and done and the day turned around a bit, but I seriouslye wondered why I didn't just crawl into bed and call it a day! LOL

What's in the mail?

Well I had 2 weeks of crappy mail, even though I was winning tons of giveaways.  I finally got mail, but then life has been crazy and I haven't posted the pics so here is what I've gotten recently!

Monday's Mail: Cook Book was a free sample, I won all the rest on different giveaways!

Wednesday: Itunes Gift Card!  I won it from a Giveaway!

Thursday Mail: Starbucks Giftcard that I won on a giveaway, and the crochet Necklace I bought from

Baby Dipper Review and Giveaway

Justin is my 3rd baby, so most things I have a good idea of what works well for me, and what doesn't.

Feeding the first foods has always been a bit of a pain in the "booty".  Seriously, I usually have to hold one of our bowls in my hand because if not it slides all over while I am trying to scoop food out.  It has happened more than once that a little foot did a swift kick and kicks the bowl, out of my hand and onto my lap/floor/table.  What a huge mess, and very irritating!

I always find too that I have to tip the bowl to the side to get the little bits of cereal you make for such a little one.

All in all what a pain!

I found the Baby Dipper Set on-line.  Here's some back story about it:

Barbara Schantz, mom of twin girls, Greta and Cora, born in 2004, and also the mother of twin boys, Franklin and Carlton, born in 2008. As a stay-at-home mom of twin babies, she faced the daunting task of feeding them. Frustrated with the bowls she had already purchased, she investigated and bought other bowls, but still remained disappointed. The vision for the Baby Dipper® bowl came to her when Cora and Greta were about 6 months old, not long after they started eating baby cereal and other pureed foods. She  needed a bowl that required only one hand to successfully feed a baby, but why wasn't there one on the market that satisfied this need?
She thought that to accomplish one-handed feeding, the bowl should not slide around on the table and it should aid in the collection of the baby food. A non-slip bottom surface would keep it from sliding. A sloped interior surface and a spoon-shaped collection point would help gather the food down to the last bite. Also, adding to those features, vertical sides would help push food onto the spoon and transparent sides would allow the food to be seen easily by both the parent and the child. The bowl she designed has proven to make feeding much easier for parents and even for toddlers trying to spoon-feed themselves. The patented Baby Dipper bowl is truly unique in the marketplace and hopefully will help parents everywhere.

This is not me and Justin LOL

Well I have to say that with feeding Justin recently, I found it so much easier to feed him, and it truly is 1 handed!  Which is great because he usually wants to eat the same time as Mama who is hungry.  Yes I have sometimes had his spoon in one hand and my fork in another LOL!  But I find right now I have to chance him around, wipe his face with one hand so having the spare hand free is so wonderful!

Gathering the food onto the spoon is quite easy, and no effort at all. The food really does slope to one end!

As for the toddler feeding? Well I have to say that Wes is a messy eater, and his plate/bowl slides around a lot, and then he drops food where it was.  I let him try out my baby dipper bowl once, and it really did help.  I did find though that for his cereal he eats more than the bowl holds, so I had to fill it a few times.  He is an older toddler though, so I think that if you have a younger one who doesn't eat as much this would be a great bowl for him.

I honestly love this bowl for Justin, that I am always washing it by hand to have it clean.  I do throw it in the dishwasher if I am about to start it.

When Barbara and I were chatting she asked me if Jack had physical concerns that caused his speech delay, because she had heard there could be a corolation there.  Barbara hoped the Baby Dipper could help him with feeding himself.  For Jack, it isn't the case, but there are a lot of children this holds true for.  Barbara had a review done by a lady whose child had Down Syndrome, check that out HERE

Barbara has taken this to heart and realized that not only can her product be beneficial to us Mom's but it can be a tool for those children with special needs.  If your child, or a child close to you, has special needs be sure to check these out.  Also if you have any ideas of where Barbara can market this product to Special Needs Families, I am sure she would love to hear from you through any one of her contact avenues.: www.babydipper.com/contact.htm

BUY IT: I highly recommend that you pick this up for yourself, or as a baby shower gift!  It is a unique product and the new Mommy will love it from the moment she uses it!  So buy a Baby Dipper Feeding Set BPA-FREE.

WIN IT: I was so happy when Barbara offered to give a Baby Dipper set to one of my readers, as I am sure that you will love it and want one for every Mommy you know!

Book Review: I Hate To Cook Book

I recently won the "I hate to cook book" from a blog giveaway.  What attracted me to it was that I hate to cook so I thought hey that's gotta be good.

Here is a synopsis of the book:
"There are two kinds of people in this world: the ones who don't cook out of and have NEVER cooked out of THE I HATE TO COOK BOOK, and the other kind...The I HATE TO COOK people consist mainly of those who find other things more interesting and less fattening, and so they do it as seldom as possible. Today there is an Annual Culinary Olympics, with hundreds of cooks from many countries ardently competing. But we who hate to cook have had our own Olympics for years, seeing who can get out of the kitchen the fastest and stay out the longest." - Peg Bracken
Philosopher's Chowder. Skinny Meatloaf. Fat Man's Shrimp. Immediate Fudge Cake. These are just a few of the beloved recipes from Peg Bracken's classic I HATE TO COOK BOOK. Written in a time when women were expected to have full, delicious meals on the table for their families every night, Peg Bracken offered women who didn't revel in this obligation an alternative: quick, simple meals that took minimal effort but would still satisfy.

50 years later, times have certainly changed - but the appeal of THE I HATE TO COOK BOOK hasn't.

This book is for everyone, men and women alike, who wants to get from cooking hour to cocktail hour in as little time as possible.

I love this book!  Seriously, it is a Cook Book with real recipes that my family actually will eat!  I have all the ingredients in the house, so that is a good thing!

The funny thing is it has anedotes in between and seriously I was laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes!  My hubby thought I was losing it because I was saying "What do you think of this recipe?" and would list ingredients and than get quiet and start laughing!

The only thing that I am not totally loving is that it has some terms from the 60s that I don't get, but other than that I am love it!

This for That Linky!

Today I am happy to post the "This for That" linky!  Stephanie is letting us all post it to get the word out!  So read the following, so you know what to do:

If this is your first time linking up with us on This for That, please READ THIS POST for more information!
Post your "need" in the MckLinky by writing about what you need and linking to where others can fulfill that need. Meet the need of the 3 ppl DIRECTLY ABOVE your link, AND THEN YOU ARE DONE! If you want more than 3 ppl to help you out, then wait a bit, come back later and enter your need again (just make sure you AGAIN help out the 3 ppl DIRECTLY ABOVE you). The idea is that you help out 3 ppl and 3 ppl help you out...AND you don't have to wonder if you left someone hanging because your job is done as soon as you help out the three ppl above you! You can link up as many times as you want!

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT IN ORDER TO LINK UP, YOU NEED TO FULFILL THE REQUESTS OF THE THREE PEOPLE ABOVE YOU. IF YOU CANNOT MEET THE NEED, PLEASE EMAIL ME. OTHERWISE, I WILL BE DELETING REQUESTS OF THOSE WHO AREN'T FULFILLING THE REQUESTS OF OTHERS. IF YOU DON'T HAVE TIME TO HELP OTHERS OUT AT THE MOMENT, THEN PLEASE WAIT TO LINK UP UNTIL YOU DO. THANK YOU :) If I delete your request and you DID meet the needs of the 3 ppl DIRECTLY ABOVE YOU, please email me and I will correct this!

**Note** If someone asks that you follow via GFC and you already do, I'm sure they would appreciate it if you find another way to follow or help them. Or you could comment and let them know you already do and ask if there is anything else you can do to help them.

1. Tell me a little about yourself.
Hi! I'm Jessica, a stay-at-home mama to two beautiful boys, Cohen and Eli. Hubby and I have been married for 4 years and have moved across country and in and out of apartments, had the boys and changed multiple jobs! We live a busy life, but that's the way I like it! Currently, I am a full-time mama, organizer of a Meetup.com SAHM group and a newly avid blogger! It's a crazy life, but it's my life and I wouldn't change a thing!

2. How long have you been blogging?
Well, I have actually only been blogging since mid-June, so about 2 months! But I am totally addicted and my followers keep me going strong!

3. What is your favorite thing about blogging?
My favorite thing about blogging is being able to help others, especially other mamas! I love when I get emails saying that a certain post was really helpful or opened their eyes to something new (cloth diapers, in particular)!

4. What is your main line of work currently? (eg. SAHM, Accountant, etc.)
I am very proud and privileged to be a full-time SAHM to my wonderful boys!

5. Do you have any blogging pet peeves?
Hm... Well, I'm not a fan of drama. If you have something to say, you can say it without being a jerk... There are definitely adult ways to have a disagreement.

6. Do you have any giveaways? If so, what's the most exciting one you have going right now?

YES! I always have a ton of amazing giveaways!!!
My most popular giveaway right now is for a set of Swaddling Blankets from KdBuggie Boutique! Click HERE to enter!
But also, come back September 15th and 16th for the huge Blogmania event that's happening! So far, I have over $175 in cloth diapers and other awesome prizes!

7. What led you to name your blog the name you gave it?
This one's an easy one... 'And Then There Were 4...' is our family. It started with the 2 of us (hubby and I) and now there are 4! :)

8. What are all the ways my readers can find you?

Must See Linkys!

Do you have giveaways you want to post, but can't think of where? Do you want to enter giveaways but don't want to search all over various blogs?  Well here are some of the linkys that I like to post my giveaways on, and/or enter giveaways on!

Of course I will start out with my giveaway linky LOL!  It is still new, and I am trying to get the word out there, but I started it bceause I have a hard time trying to remember to input my giveaways in to linky's each week.  So it is a permanent linky.  Just remember to put the end date, so I can delete it for you when it's expired!  Check it out HERE!

Next up is the  "The Low-Entry Lowdown" over at Ten Talents.  It is a list of low-entry giveaways.  If you have a giveaway that is low-entries just tell her and she will add it to the list, or you can enter all the giveaways and have great chances of winning as well!  Plus it feels good knowing that you are helping another blogger to increase the entries in their giveaways!  I will pass along ones that I find are low-entries to her so that they can be seen by more people!

Also over at Ten Talents is the This for That list.  It is posted every day so you just need to go over and look through her posts to find it.  I The basic idea behind This for That is that you post your "need" (e.g. GFC follow, enter my giveaway, follow me on twitter/fb, vote for me, etc, etc).  Then you fulfill the need of the 3 (or more if so desired) people ahead of you.  This way, you know your need will have 3 people (minimum) doing your task.  I generally find that when I post something I get way more than 3 people, and it really is beneficial to me to post there.  It is a new list and will expand as we get the word out.  I also find there are some great blogs I hadn't discovered before, or some really great giveaways I had missed.  So I find helping others really fun, and interesting, and bonus I get some help too!

If you have an Etsy Giveaway, then be sure to get it posted on: Etsy Giveaways.  You send them an email, with all the details, and they will post it with a link and pictures.  I also find this is a great place to find some awesome giveaways.  I have won many great things from different etsy shops by checking out their giveaways.  I love that it is sorted by end date, so I just go down the list and enter the ones that are going to expire soon and then I can come back later to enter more!

Maybe you have heard of Prizey, maybe you are like me and didn't know about it!  But I recently discovered: Prizey  It is a site where you can list all of your giveaways!  There are tons there to enter too!

Want learn more about Jacqui? Keep reading to hear what she has to say:

1.) What got you interested in Blog Design? What got me interested is that I couldn't find any "pre-made" designs out there that I liked for my blogs so I started to create my own. I started to learn the HTML of it all and got to work on creating my own designs. soon after I started to do little designs for blogger friends and it just took off from there. One of the people I was creating for told that I should start my own business. From then on I have been working on it.

2.) What kinds of things will be happening during your launch party? Prizes, 12 Prizes will be given away: Buttons, Animated Headers, some packages and i will be giving away as a grand prize "Every thing I Can Do" blog re-design package. also if you would like to purchase any of my 2 largest packages within the week of my launch party they will be 25% off.

3.) What is the one thing that you would like your potential clients know? As of right now I'm only doing blogger blogs. Wordpress will come soon but I want to learn everything about blogger designs before I start on Wordpress. I make fresh and clean designs, I want to make your blog to look amazing. I don't mess with the template much so your page will not take forever to load like other designers layouts do. If you mess with the codes in the template a lot, or have a really complicated template installed your page will load really slow, and readers do not like that. they want to go on to your blog and read not have to wait 1-3 minutes for your whole page to load. I DO NOT ask for your Blogger password at all during the design process. I don't not feel comfortable giving my password out to anyone so I would not ask you to do the same. I know that people contact me about this and when I tell them that I don't need the password to install the design they are shocked since all the other designers ask for it. From what I have seen with other designer sites are that I'm the only one that doesn't ask for your password. (and I'm the cheapest and I give you a whole lot for bang for your buck). I will make your blog look the way you want, I will involve you into the process also. I will send you everything little thing i create for your approval, if you don't like the font i will change it. if you do like it at all I will create something that you are happy with. after I have installed your design and let say a month passes by and you want me to change the font or want it to say something else I will change it for you at no cost to you. I want to make you the buyer happy no matter what.

4.) What should potential clients know before contacting a blog designer? Before contacting a blog designer you should know what you want, and the feel you want for you blog. so you want it to reflex what you blog about (being a stay at home mom, giveaways, hobby's) ; do you want it to have a certain theme (stars, clouds, flowers); and what colors do you want it to have. If you don't know what you want or any ideas you have for your blog I will help you in any way I can, I'll try to get ideas from what you already have as a blog design or what you write about. You should feel 100% comfortable with the designer before you purchase and ask questions if you have any before buying.

HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!

Avon Review and Giveaway - CAN only

Boy do I have a new company I would like to introduce you to today!  It's called Avon!  ROFL!  Ok so who hasn't heard of Avon before?

I am excited to share with you my experiences with Avon, and introduce you to my new Avon lady!

When I was little my Mom was a SAHM.  She tried to start working, but I really didn't take to it well, and so she quit. However, we really needed extra income, so she started selling Avon.  We always had their products in the house, and Mom would let us play with some of their little samples of lipstick!

When I first started wearing make-up when of my relatives gave me some make up and it made my allergies act up so bad that my eyes were swollen and got all nasty.  I couldn't touch them for days, and thought I couldn't wear make up at all.  However, I had played with Avon make up and never had a problem.

Avon has been selling hypo-allergenic make up long before it was the norm.

I've always used products from Avon, I can even use their body mist products which I normally can't use as I break into a rash.

I have many favourite products and I will show you some in a minute...I know your breath is bated....

When Farah and I started talking about doing the giveaway I told her I would just do the giveaway as I have plenty of experience with Avon, but she said she wanted me to be able to try one of their new products.  So as a faithful Avon patron I wasn't going to turn down free products LOL!

So she brought over all kinds of goodies for me to look at, and we decided I would try out this:

It's called the Curves Trimming Vest (the one I have actually has short sleeves).  I am not a work out kind of girl, but I do wear a pedometer and wore this while running around the house.  I found that it actually straightened me up a lot and improved my posture.  I felt my tummy and back muscles, which desperately need the strengthening after having the baby.  It is easy to wear, although it is a bit tight which is the point.  I think it is an easy way to get a little bit trimmer while working out anyways.  It is for sure worth the $30 and would easily fit into your workout routine.

These days everywhere you go there is an antibacterial hand cleanser.  We all know how harsh they are on our hands and how much they smell like alcohol! Yuck!  Avon has "Naturals" Antibacterial hand gels.  I tried the peach one before, and recently tried the cucumber melon.  Both have a gentle smell, and don't dry out your skin.

One of my all time favourite products is the Aloe Vera Gel that you put on if you are sunburnt.  Whenver I have a mild burn I put this gel on, and since I am a klutz, it's a lot!  When I was pregnant with my youngest I poured scalding hot coffee on my belly.  I promptly put cold clothes on and cooled the skin, and after a while when it wasn't as bad but still hurt I put on this gel, and by the next day it was fine.  It helped ease the pain, and soothed my skin.

Most people know that Avon has fragrances, cosmetics, and skin care products.  But did you know that they have: clothes, shoes, handbags, gift items, collectibles and so much more?

Check out the brochure here!  I've bought lingerie, a barbie, Coca-Cola Collectibles, Clothes, Bags, of course all the skin care, fragrances and cosmetics as well.  I've never had a product that I didn't like from them.

BUY IT: Head over on to Farah's Shop and pick out what you want and let her know!  Do that now, because even if you win, I know you will find more you want.  With Back-to-School shopping, Halloween Shopping, Christmas Shopping, and just plain Mama needs a treat shopping you will always be able to spend the money later!

WIN IT: Farah has so generously offered $25.00 to one of my Canadian Readers (must have a residence for shipping purposes).

Mandatory Entry: The mandatory entry must be completed before all other entries will be counted. Be sure to leave your email address with each entry. For each entry be sure to leave a seperate comment.

Speechways Review and Giveaway

As you most likely know, my oldest son has a speech delay. It has been a slow process, but I know he is making great progress.

Back when we first confirmed he had a speech delay, I wanted to know how I could best work with him at home, and I did everything I could. We paid big bucks to put him in a private speech therapist, and we put him on several waiting lists for public help.

The private therapist and him didn't really mesh personality wise, and the money ran out, but we had seen progress with the tips she gave us at home. So I worked hard with him.

I searched and searched for any tools I could get, and bugged everyone I knew for what I could try with him. The one thing I hated the most was the lack of help there was out there for me. A lot of what I heard was to get a therapist, which I was doing, but I needed tangible things to try before that. But it took us over a year to get an appointment and then another couple of months to get our first assessment and another month to get in to sessions!

I recently discovered My Speech Ways, and I really wish I had found it sooner! As soon as we had help Jack started picking up speech, but it took us so long to get the help. If I had this program I sincerely feel like we would have been further ahead of where we are right now.  I was sent the SpeechWays Full Speech and Language Kit to try out.

Here are some of my favourite things about it.

First off when I got it the first thing I noticed is that it comes in a case, that looks like a big pencil case.  The case fits all the cards, and has 3 rings so you can put it in a binder!  I am slightly OCD about organization so this was huge for me.  I quickly put it in Jack's learning binder (yes he has a binder with all the items given to us from the school, his speech therapy and the tons of books I bought him for getting ready for school).

The next thing that I loved was that they are all laminated!  So when Jack touches them with less than clean hands, or Wesley grabs them, they can easily be wiped off!  Or let's face it, I knock over my coffee I don't have to worry about it get ruined!

Leah (the creater and owner of Speechways) is a Mom (let's face it we love that, don't we?), and she was the one that pointed out they were laminated because I was so excited about the case I wrote back right away.  Her response was
"Glad you like the packaging. I'm a mother, too, and I'm always thinking of things that would be more conveniet for us "frontline" people. If you'll also notice, the card stock is glossy, so if jelly is smudged on it or coffee or juice spilled, just wipe if off!"

 Genius!

Ok so those are the non-speech related things, but it shows that there is great thought put into this product.

What is wonderful is as I read each card it sounded just like our speech therapists do.  Each tip was exactly what they said in the speech therapy sessions.  Leah R. Moryosef, M.A., CCC-SLP, is a licensed and certified speech language pathologist with 16 years experience working in private clinics, hospitals, and public schools. Ms. Moryosef has worked extensively with both children and adults with a variety of communication disorders, including disorders of articulation, language, voice, and fluency.

In my many emails back and forth with Leah we shared some of our frustrations of dealing with the systems in place and trying to get help.  We both have a passion for helping others dealing with Speech delays.  When I told her about my frustrations she wrote:

I was frustrated with the systems within which I work (public schools to be specific) and also the inconvenience and expense of going to a private clinic. For many, SpeechWays is all they'll need. Others might need just a few speech therapy sessions with a speech pathologist, and then they can continue the progress with SpeechWays. Still others might need many sessions with a speech pathologist, due to the severity of the problems, but then SpeechWays can act as the home program for faster carryover. It's a WIN-WIN-WIN!
On the cards it gives ideas of how to approach a sound, and what to try.  But it also says if you have tried this and it isn't working, go back to this (which is what our therapist did), and it also tells you at what point you should check in with a speech therapist which I thought was great!

Jack and I have been using all the materials that we can and he really is progressing quite well.  I am noticing that he is speaking clearer and working on the sounds that he isn't as good at.

SpeechWays even has sets where you can buy just certain sounds in case your child is having trouble with only specific sounds and not all of them!

I think this is a great system for everyone who has a child with a speech delay, no matter where you are in the process.  There really is something you can benefit from!

Even just signing up for her newsletter or accessing her website will help you!  Check out her FAQs page.  I love that it isn't the usual FAQs type of page.  It gives tips on how to help your child's speech and getting others involved.  It even gives her email address in case you are stuck!  Who wouldn't love/need to have a speech therapist you can just send a quick "HELP" question to!

BUY IT: If you have a child with a speech delay or know someone who does (or even if your child is on target but you want to work on the sounds that are next on the developmental stage) go over and grab that set on her site
WIN IT: I am so excited to let you know that for one of you help is on it's way!  Leah is giving one of my lucky readers a Speech Ways program of their choice!  Whatever product you feel you can best benefit from!! Isn't that great??

Mandatory Entry: The mandatory entry must be completed before all other entries will be counted. Be sure to leave your email address with each entry. For each entry be sure to leave a seperate comment.

You must sign up for My Speech Ways Newsletter (about 1/4 way down the page), and agree to be signed up for 6 months.
Note: Your inbox will not be filled with junk, but she does send out an email about once a month with helpful tips!  Really I think you will benefit from this, and would recommend signing up for it even if you didn't want to register for the giveaway (but who wouldn't???)
